Curated by the visionary minds of William Pannell (aka DJ Onyx, a celebrated local DJ and artist) and Terry Thompson Jr., Freakquency is an electrifying journey into the heart of the District’s vibrant LGBT scene.
Fueled by their love for the circuit scene and its transformative power on gay culture, Pannell and Thompson recognized the need for a fresh, accessible experience tailored to an underserved audience. With its August 2022 debut, Freakquency instantly captivated attendees, garnered glowing reviews, and ignited a loyal following. The momentum has only intensified from there, with each subsequent event surpassing expectations.

Partnering with organizations like CAPITAL PRIDE ALLIANCE and Impulse Group DC, we actively contribute to promoting sexual wellness, mental health, substance use awareness, and racial equity within our community. In support of our shared mission, Freakquency is proud to donate a portion of our proceeds from our May event to Capital Pride Alliance and Impulse Group DC, furthering our collective impact on creating positive change.
